Meet Meachers: Dan Webb – Transport Planner

Dan Webb

Being a transport planner is clearly a role Dan Webb loves. He’s done it successfully for more than seven years.

Part of a small team of six, Dan plans the routes for our haulage vehicles. He books in collections and deliveries with our customers. He also reports to our workshop if any of our vehicles require attention.

While it’s a role he has done for many years, Dan’s journey with Meachers is still at the beginning. Since joining us last year his enthusiasm is clear. He tells us that supporting the smooth and efficient running of our fleet is something he takes great pride in.

In addition to haulage, Dan occasionally supports the team that manages the Meachers’ Pallet Network. This is our service for the collection, storing or nationwide delivery of palletised goods from SO postcodes.

The national driver shortage has brought with it challenges but Dan has risen to these, managing to maintain a great service and team of drivers to deliver excellence to our customers.

An avid Southampton FC fan and keen golfer, Dan enjoys spending time with his friends and family and this is something that translates into his working life too:

“My favourite thing about working for Meachers is the close team I work with and the close connection I have with each of the drivers. I also enjoy working for such a large company, with a strong reputation.

“In the next five years I would like to continue learning more about the transport industry and progress within Meachers, which will hopefully lead to me joining the management team.”
