Consequently, Meachers has worked with Amari Plastics for many years, developing an efficient, smooth-running supply chain that replaces complexity with continuity.
UK Transport & Warehousing
Meachers collaborated with Amari Plastics to establish a ‘flyer & cross-dock’ system: a dedicated delivery and collection service between branches. Covering the area from Southampton to Glasgow, the network allows efficient order transfers between Amari locations. The daily and fixed ‘flyer routes’ provide multiple weekly delivery/collection windows, optimized for efficiency. Different delivery points on each route ensure trucks return to Meachers’ Derby depot filled with branch transfers. The warehouse team manages paperwork, inspects product quality, confirms deliveries, and schedules them for the next day. Meachers’ dedicated team ensures consistent and knowledgeable service.
Supply Chain Management & Freight Forwarding
In addition to UK distribution, Meachers also manages Amari’s import operation. The business has suppliers that ship materials into the UK from different countries across the world.
With containers arriving every month, into the Port of Southampton, the items vary. From digital print rolls, and thin gauge film products to cast acrylic sheets.
Subsequently, the goods are collected and devanned at Meachers’ Southampton depot. From there, they are sent on trucks to an Amari location or Meachers’ Derby depot for temporary storage, before later being called off for delivery via the flyer system.
