Matthew, a keen runner from Southampton, joined Meachers in September 2023 as a Senior Operations Coordinator in our Fair Oak site.
Working closely with a team of eight, who ensure that the site runs smoothly, his role involves planning truck schedules and keeping customers well-informed and looked after.
He likes the variety of his role and enjoys a challenge.
“Every day is different. There are daily tasks I must do every day, but in this industry, there’s always something challenging that crops up most days and requires some outside-the-box thinking to resolve.”
Although still new to Meachers, he is optimistic about the opportunities here.
One project he found especially enjoyable was his recent work on pricing for Prysmian Cables. It required careful thinking and detailed planning.
“I enjoy working on the bigger projects that require more in-depth thinking and planning, something to get my teeth stuck into.”
Matthew sees Meachers as a company that is growing, and he is eager to play a role in its success.
“I’m sure there will be some big changes in the industry over the coming years, but I’m glad to see Meachers is constantly adapting and evolving to keep ahead.
“Continued growth across the South Coast is further cementing its already gleaming reputation, which I’m enjoying being part of!”
In his spare time, Matthew enjoys running and mountain biking. He’s also someone who likes to push himself to achieve – earning his Transport Management CPC qualification in August 2022, and running a half-marathon last year.
He’s now busy getting ready for another one soon.
