Meachers Global Logistics is supporting the Lord’s Taverners charity with their latest campaign to help more disadvantaged and disabled young people across the world access sport
Meachers will be providing the warehousing and overseas distribution for sporting equipment collected in a national campaign designed to encourage individuals, clubs and schools to donate old and unwanted cricket, football and rugby equipment and clothing.
The sports kit will be collected from depots across the UK, then sorted and stored at Meachers’ warehousing facility in Derby, before being shipped to young people across the world.
Fleet Director of Meachers Global Logistics, Jamie Terris, said: “The Lord’s Taverners is a fantastic charity that helps many young people across our region and further afield, and we are delighted to be able to support them with their efforts.”
Sports Kit Recycling Manager at the Lord’s Taverners, Holly Colvin, said: “This is a fantastic project that is only made possible through the generosity of our commercial partners. The support we have received from Meachers is hugely appreciated and will help us greatly with our complex logistics requirements.”
