Here are the steps Meachers Global Logistics has taken and continues to take to understand and minimise the potential risk of modern slavery in its business and supply chains.
This statement is published in line with section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Our commitment to the principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015
Meachers Global Logistics is committed to the principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and the abolition of modern slavery and human trafficking.

Our recruitment and people management processes are designed to ensure that all prospective employees are legally entitled to work in the UK and to safeguard employees from any abuse or coercion.
We do not enter into business with any organisation, in the UK or abroad, which knowingly supports or is found to be involved in slavery, servitude, and forced or compulsory labour.
Our supply chain
Due to the nature of our business, we assess ourselves to have a low risk of modern slavery in our business and supply chains.
Our supply chains are limited and we procure goods and services from a restricted range of UK and overseas suppliers, whom we will have vetted and approved or had a longstanding working relationship. We believe that in combination with the clear policies implemented by ourselves, our customers and our suppliers we can help prevent human trafficking and slavery in our supply chain.
Our policies in relation to the Modern Slavery Act 2015
The following policies are available to all staff through the Meachers Global Logistics Company Handbook or via Line Managers:
– Recruitment policy
– Ethical Code of Practice
– Embedding the principles
– Whistleblowing policy
– Bullying and harassment policy
To ensure a good level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery amongst our workforce by providing e-learning to our staff which includes modules dedicated to modern slavery. This is supplemented by our organisational policies which give staff assurance that all employees can raise concerns without fear of reprisal.
– Ensuring staff involved in procurement activity are aware of and follow modern slavery procurement guidance.
– Ensuring that consideration of the modern slavery risks and prevention are added to Meachers Global Logistics policy review process.
– Making sure Meachers Global Logistics procurement strategies and contract terms and conditions include references to modern slavery and human trafficking.
– Focus our attention on third-party employment agencies that supply our temporary workers as we deem this to be our highest risk area. We audit a sample of these agencies to ensure compliance in order to prevent the risk of modern slavery as well as ensuring they comply with other legislative requirements such as health and safety and the right to work in the UK.
– Continuing to carry out checks on its own staff to confirm the identity of each worker and their right to work in the UK.
– Continuing to take action to embed a zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery.
This statement has been approved by Meachers Board of Directors Apr 2024. Meachers financial year end is the 30th of April 2024.
This statement will be reviewed and updated annually.
