In celebration of 80 years of the United Kingdom Warehousing Association (UKWA), Clare Bottle, CEO of UKWA, visited Meachers Global Logistics this week. The tour marks a year-long celebration, with Clare stopping at 80 warehouses across the country to spotlight the essential role of the warehousing and logistics sector plays in the UK economy.

Focus on Career Development and Community Support

During the visit to Meachers Global Logistics, Clare toured the company’s facilities and had in-depth discussions with key members of the team. Notably, focusing on Meachers’ active involvement with the Maritime and Transport Career Programme, an initiative designed to support young people pursuing careers in logistics and maritime sectors. Furthermore, Meachers highlighted its partnership with the Saints Foundation, which provides skills development and career opportunities for people in the Southampton region.

In addition to Clare Bottle’s visit, Caroline Nokes, MP for Romsey and Southampton North, also attended to demonstrate her support for local businesses and the logistics industry. Nokes praised Meachers Global Logistics for their unwavering commitment to nurturing local talent and boosting the regional economy.
