Maintenance Caretaker

Responsible to: Support Services General Manager


• Proven experience as a maintenance caretaker or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance and repair techniques for various systems and equipment.
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general carpentry work.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Job Summary:

As Maintenance Caretaker you will be responsible for ensuring the overall maintenance and upkeep of properties and facilities at Meachers Global Logistics. This will involve performing various maintenance tasks, including but not limited to general repairs and the upkeep of facilities and equipment.

Responsibilities within the job:

• Perform routine inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning and safety of the premises.
• Conduct repairs, replacements, and installations of equipment, fixtures, and appliances.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve any issues efficiently.
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels of supplies and equipment needed for maintenance and repairs.
• Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services.
• Document and report any maintenance activities, repairs, and incidents to the supervisor.
• Conduct regular inspections of the properties to identify potential maintenance needs.
• Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to all safety regulations and protocols.
