Administration Assistant – Apprentice

Fantastic opportunity for a confident, enthusiastic individual to start their career in a fast-paced working environment learning about the all-encompassing world of Logistics. With future prospects within our logistics sector.

Duties will include, but not exhaustive:

  • Actioning emails.
  • Answering phone calls from internal and external sources, speaking to customers.
  • Raising picks/jobs on the internal computer systems.
  • Updating computer systems, processing job paperwork, filing of paperwork.
  • Ad-hoc administrative support in all departments, Warehouse, Transport, Freight Forwarding when necessary.

Skills Required:

  • Excellent organisation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good knowledge of IT.
  • Willingness to learn, and good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously, with the ability to use their initiative in a fast paced environment.

Qualifications Required:

4 GCSE’s at grades A-C (or equivalent) to include English and Maths.

Working Week: Monday to Friday 08:30 – 17:30 with an hour for Lunch

Paid Hours per week: 40

Weekly Wage:

£200 for the first 12 months, after that it will be in line with the National Minimum Wage.

Office Administrator

To work within a busy office environment completing variable functions as instructed by the Office Supervisor utilising computer systems such as LocateIT (Warehouse Management System), Microsoft Office, Order Manager, Amos, MXP and direct customer communication via e-mail (Outlook) and telephone.

  • Min 4 GCSE’s grade A-C including English and Maths or equivialent
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office ( Excel & Word )
  • Ability to live and work in the UK
  • Computer literate.
  • Use of Email
  • Attention to Detail

Core duties

  • Perform all duties efficiently and safely as instructed by Administration Office Supervisor.
  • Direct customer and supplier communication via telephone and email.
  • Picking / Locating of goods within the warehouse management system (LocateIT)
  • Usage of Excel spreadsheets
  • Liaising with all Warehouse staff / Supervisor with work instructions
  • Line by line data entry for inbound goods
  • Documentation scanning for customer required paperwork
  • Accurate data input into multiple computer systems
  • Complete all work related paperwork accurately as per working procedure.
  • Abide to all Health & Safety regulations

Hours: 8.30 – 5.30 (1 hour Lunch)

Warehouse Operator

Hours: Rolling Shift, 7.00 – 5.30

8.00 – 6.30. Mon – Friday.

47.5 hours /week.

To work within an a busy warehouse environment completing various functions as instructed by the Warehouse

  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English
  • Ideally Reach and Counter Balance Truck Licences
  • A good attention to detail
  • Ability to live and work in the UK
  • Computer literate with the ability to operate RF scanners.

Core duties

  • Perform all duties efficiently and safely as instructed by Warehouse Supervisor/Operations Controller.
  • Booking in customer orders accurately using a booking in portal
  • Picking / Locating of goods within the warehouse management system (LocateIT)
  • Picking Hotel/Bar stock orders using a RF gun.
  • Loading and unloading trailers and containers.
  • Booking in Landed orders returned from the ships.
  • Documentation scanning for customer required paperwork
  • Complete all work related paperwork accurately as per working procedure.
  • Abide to all Health & Safety regulations

HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a major Southampton based Haulage Company operating directly from our customer’s two sites in Gosport.  Meacher’s Global Logistics is one of the leading independent logistics providers of international freight and transport services in the UK. We are currently looking for quality and reliable drivers with a minimum of 6 months Class 1 driving experience to operate on a 4 on 4 off shift basis day and night.

Whether you are a relatively new driver or you are a long standing experienced driver, as long as you have the relevant skills and licences all drivers are welcome to apply for these roles.

Excellent communication skills and fluent in English is required as you will be in constant communication direct with our customer. It is essential you have the ability to demonstrate the highest level of professionalism at all times under any circumstance both internally or externally. Days & Night shifts available 4 on 4 off basis
